The free auction management service, Auctiva, purchased Sellathon earlier this month. Auctiva is an auction management service similar to Vendio or Marketworks. Sellathon provides eBay sellers with data to help them analyze where their traffic on eBay is coming from. Currently sellers insert code into their eBay auctions that allows ViewTracker to track the traffic coming to their listing. Essentially it is a very intelligent hit counter. Every time a member visits a listing ViewTracker sends data about the member's actions so the seller can see where the bidder came from, if they arrived by searching or browsing, the search terms that were used to get there and the time of day they found your auction. Sellers can analyzed the data to refine the title keywords, auction ending times and dates and categories that perform best for them. Unlike other research tools like HammerTap3 and TeraPeak, Sellathon analyzes only your auctions. Sellathon currently offers a 30-day free trial. Every eBay users should take advantage of this, as the data you get is very revealing. Top eBay sellers have used Sellathon for years to hone their auctions. I recently learned something from Sellathon about my EZ Cube auctions that increased my sell through rate by almost 15%. This one small change to how I was listing my auctions put over $1000 additional revenue in my pocket last month. Other News on the Auction Front The eBay fee increase is behind us. It was not as bad as some sellers had feared but the other shoe is yet to drop. PayPal is rumored to be looking at additional revenue sources. Competition from merchant credit card companies will probably prevent an across the board fee increase but look to PayPal to start charging small fees for incremental features and options much like eBay offers optional feature fees. Rumors of new PayPal security features are flying around also. Beyond the rumors, other changes coming that are a sure thing include the roll out of a new eBay search engine that has been in beta for several months and changes to the eBay feedback system similar to those rolled out on eBay Motors a few months ago. WorldWide Brands Rolls The Dice Earlier this month WorldWide Brands the oldest and most credible supplier of eBay Product Wholesale Supplier Data, rolled the dice with a new product called OneSource. OneSource is a comprehensive eBay Wholesale Sourcing Solution for eBay sellers. It combines the Drop Ship Source Directory, The Light Bulk Wholesale Directory, The Complete Wholesale Directory and The Market Wizard Research Tool all into one comprehensive eBay wholesale product resource called OneSource. As you can imagine such a complete service would have to be more expensive than the individual parts offered before --and it is. The company rolled out the product on January 1st and is holding its collective breath to see if the product will be successful at the new higher price point. WWB did offer some incentives to early adopters in the form of a $50 discount to those that sign up now. It is not clear how long they will offer the discount --probably for at least the month of January, but most likely not much longer. I know Chris Malta and Rob Cowie at WWB and contacted them to ask if we could do a special deal for my readers and they agreed. So if you sign up now, using this link only, you will get an additional $20 off. So go here to take the tour and get your $70 savings today. |
