One of the best way to find wholesale sources is to look where they advertise.  There is a great little wholesale magazine called Web Wholesaler that you can subscribe to for FREE.  Besides some great articles and information, each issue is loaded with advertisement from wholesalers who are looking for people like you to buy their products to sell on eBay and Amazon.

Web Wholesaler only promotes FREE SUBSCRIPIONS for a short period every few months. After that you have to pay to subscribe –so don’t want to take advantage of this offer.

Let’s take a look at each one.

1. Total Scams – there are a few companies out there that claim to have thousands of famous name brand products that in fact ship mostly fakes from China.  I once bought a dozed Polo dress shirts from one of these companies. I didn’t know I was buying from China, but that’s where the package came from when it arrived. Actually the fakes were pretty good quality, but they were fakes so I couldn’t sell them on eBay. I ended up selling them on Craigslist and telling people they were knockoffs. I didn’t make any money, but I got my money back that way.

2. The large general dropshippers are the companies you see advertised in Google Ads all the time.  They claim to have virtual warehouses stuffed with millions of products. In fact they are nothing more than middlemen, who buy at wholesale from the real distributor, mark up the product and sell it to you. The problem is that others are selling the same things on eBay for less than you are buying it for.

3. Specialized Drop Shippers are a little better. These are distributors who buy from manufacturers and specialize in one type of product. For example, Safety Technology sells all types of safety and self-defense products such as stun guns, and pepper spray.

4. Small and medium-sized manufacturers that drop ship are your very best source because you are dealing directly with the manufacturer.  There are thousands of these companies out there. Yes it is a bit of work to find them, but when you do this can be a very profitable relationship.

I recently found a new listing of eBay wholesale suppliers and drop shippers called Aid & Trade. Like all wholesale lists it has its flaws –there are always some suppliers who manage to worm their way into the list that are not true wholesalers –but in general this list is really good. It is not as good as my favorite source, WorldWide Brands, but is is also a lot less expensive.  Also they do break sources down for Canada and the UK.

So if you are looking for some good wholesale sourcing info, give Aid & Trade a try.

Once again, I want to reiterate, the Aid & Trade listings are pretty good but not perfect. And, just because i recommend the service does not mean that I endorse any firms that are listed in there. Amazon offers a new drop ship service for eBay and Website sellers

Amazon is now offering a new service called Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). The service is available to eBay and small website sellers whether you sell on Amazon or not.  One of the problems with drop shipping is that sellers who buy in bulk can always get better prices than you can from a drop shipper. Amazon has now solved that problem.

The way FBA works is that you purchase your product in bulk, have you supplier ship to Amazon and Amazon puts it in their warehouse for you.  Now you sell the item on eBay or your website and simply enter the order on Amazon’s web portal and they will box up the item and ship it to your customer.  They do charge a fee for this, but you also save on shipping as Amazon gets much lower rates from UPS than you can get because of their huge volume.
