New Amazon Image Naming Regs

October 30th, 2018 by Skip McGrath

From an earlier post several of you asked me for the reference on the new Amazon image regulations.

Here is what the new reg says:

File names must consist of the product identifier (Amazon ASIN, 13-digit ISBN, EAN, JAN, or UPC) followed by a period and the appropriate file extension (Example: B000123456.jpg or 0237425673485.tif)

You can find this info and all other current regs at:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200109520 (You may have to log into Seller Central to see that page)

It appears to me that this is only for folks listing as Author, Publisher & Vendor Guides. I couldn’t find any mention of this regulation except for the link given which was located in the Help files under Author, Publisher & Vendor Guides > About Product Image File Naming. Are you sure it applies to other categories?
