Power Words in eBay Listings and Titles Will Help You Make More Money on eBay

June 11th, 2007 by Skip McGrath

Here are ten power words that you should use in your auction titles and listings to increase your bids, conversions and final values on eBay.

If you want to make money on eBay, learn how to write auction titles and descriptions that sell.  Using these power words will put more punch in your eBay auctions and help you sell and make more money on eBay.

New: Everyone likes new products or services that will improve their life or give them something that not everyone else has.

Guaranteed: People want to be assured they are not risking their hard earned money. A no-questions-asked money back guarantee removes the risk and will increase sales.  The return on investment will far outpace the occasional returns.

Limited: People want things that are exclusive or rare because they are considered to be more valuable.

Easy, simple or foolproof: People want easy ordering, easy instructions, easy to use, easy payments, etc.

Testimonial: People want credible proof before they buy your product. Reputable testimonials and copy of positive feedback comments related to your product will help you get more and higher bids.

Fast (or quick): People want fast results, fast delivery, fast ordering, etc. Buyers value time more than money.

Free: People want free incentives before they do business with you. They could be a free eBook, bonus accessories, services, etc.

You (Your). People like to know that you are talking them. It makes them feel important and attract them to reading the whole listing. (Example:  “You will be delighted by how good you look in this beautiful and sexy blouse. All of your friends will want to know where you got it.”)

SALE. Everyone likes a bargain. They could be rebates, one time sales, percentage offers, get one free offers, etc.

Important: People do not want to miss important information that could effect their decision. I use the word “Important” as a sub-head in my listings to point out important benefits.

Most of all don’t forget to personalize your listings.  People like to buy from other people –especially if you are selling any kind of niche product.  See our Complete eBay Marketing System for more information about writing titles and listings that sell.
